Computer Science is a relatively new field whose progress shows no sign of deceleration anytime soon; and, the advancements in the recent decades in Artificial Intelligence, Data Science, and Robotics means we will see more exciting ventures and job opportunities in the future.

(Yes, there are some existing local companies, both big and small local startups, that are starting to use AI, Data Science, and even robotics to drive their business).Although technological advancements in Computer Science seems to move forward at a rapid pace, Universiti Brunei Darussalam does not lag behind in providing the up-to-date curriculums and lab resources to prepare its students for the fourth industrial revolution. My fellow students and I were very fortunate to be able to get our hands on (and play with) programmable robots and IoT devices provided by the university. My friend and I worked on autonomous mobile robotics; others worked on machine learning models for other exciting applications. Some students even worked on the (possibly more fun) project of developing a video game in their third year. I guess what I’m trying to say is that my experience in learning Computer Science at UBD was fun and engaging, and it has been a huge boon in helping me broadening my technical computing skills and understanding down to the theoretical level.

I am forever thankful to all my lecturers who has tirelessly provides great lecture experience, materials, and feedbacks throughout my learning journey.
